…I do the dinners I do at my house. It’s apparently in my family genes. This is my mother and father. This is a simple meal they put together. For 12 people. We tend not to do things small.
I had come into town for Servicemembers Legal Defense Network board meetings (I am on the Military Advisory Council) and our annual dinner that was celebrating the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”, flying in to Virginia on a Thursday night, a day before the official events started to spend some time with my family. St. Patrick’s Day celebrations had to be pushed back a few days because of some conflicting schedules and events, so we had it on Sunday evening, the night before I left. Mounds of potatoes with butter and parsley, cabbage, boiled carrots and onions, and of course – corned beef. Yum! Oh – and some homemade beer.
So when I have you over for dinner and there are 20 people in attendance, you know know why.
